Public Consultation Event

21st March 2023, 10am-3pm

Otterham & St Juliot Village Hall

Members of the public in the areas local to Cold Northcott are encouraged to have their say on the proposed Cold Northcott Wind Farm Repowering as part of the public consultation process. The planning application has now been submitted and accordingly members of the public are encouraged to submit comments via the Cornwall Council planning portal.

The pre-application consultation took the form of a blend of an in-person event and information on the project website, in addition to other in-person or remote consultation opportunities.

The public consultation meeting took place at Otterham & St Juliot Village Hall, PL32 9YN, on 21st March 2023 between 10am and 3pm. All members of the public were welcome and the meeting was well attended.

Members of the team provided information and answered questions about the upcoming planning application to repower the existing windfarm with larger, more efficient wind turbines.

For those members of the public who were not able to attend the public event, representatives from the project were available to discuss the proposals and answer questions on the proposed wind farm repowering in person, on the telephone and via Zoom and MSTeams options.

Members of the public may still share their thoughts and queries following the public consultation event via the ‘contact us’ section of the website, however the most appropriate format will shortly be to comment via the Cornwall Council planning portal directly.

As part of the public consultation process, the project stakeholder engagement team will continue to work with local communities and potential stakeholders to gather and record feedback and local information that will inform the project.

As part of a change in planning policy, the Applicant will offer the option to local communities to own at least 5% of the scheme subject to viability. Local stakeholder representatives are encouraged to contact us directly to discuss potential financial partnership options.
